General Video Guidelines

  • Make sure we can HEAR you! Make sure we can SEE you!
  • Being close to your camera/phone/computer in a quiet place is best.
  • Don’t use any copyrighted material (music, logos, etc)
  • It’s best to keep videos around 30 seconds to 3 minutes.

Here’s some tips of what has worked for other videos, but feel free to share a message any way you’d like:

  • Introduce yourself/yourselves and where you’re from.
  • What do you do? (going to school? working? creating?)
  • If you’re comfortable sharing, what are some hardships you’ve been through?
  • What helps/helped you to get to where you are now?

Most importantly, share an honest message of hope and resilience for Indigenous youth.

  • If all you want to do is share a message of hope and strength – that’s fine!
  • Use your own language if you’d like (sharing translations will also help.)
  • Sing a song or share a dance if you’d like.
  • If you are an ally (non-Indigenous) and wish to share, we ask you to be respectful to the themes and purpose of We Matter.
